Carron J. Phillips is the Sports, Race & Social Issues columnist for the New York Daily News, and has been featured on HLN and MSNBC.
He hails from Saginaw, Michigan, and is the first African-American to be a member of both the Sports Journalism Institute (2011) and the Associated Press Sports Editors Diversity Fellowship Program (2014-2015). In 2016, he was named Journalist of the Year by the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalist.
Carron graduated with honors from Morehouse College in 2006 with an African-American Studies degree and received his Masters in 2011 from the Magazines, Newspapers & Online Journalism program at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
