A lifelong New Yorker with a passion for sports and sports information, Gil Pagovich is a leader in the sports marketing world, creating and finding opportunities for athletes and entertainers alike.
He attended Syracuse University where he received degrees in both broadcast journalism and political science. While in school, Gil hosted his own sports talk show, which was the fourth rated show in the market at the time it aired, and later returned to New York in pursuit of a career in sports journalism.
After a couple of on-air stints, Gil made his foray into sports marketing, where he developed great relationships throughout the industry and a passion for finding opportunities for talent in corporate America.
Specifically, Gil works to find long term opportunities for MAXX Sports & Entertainment’s clients, creating, nurturing, and selling their brand to some of the biggest companies in the US and Canada. While often working with current athletes, Gil also helps retired athletes maintain their brands through partnerships once their careers on the field are over.
In addition to sports marketing, Gil spent seven years as an adjunct instructor at New York University since 1995 teaching a class entitled "The Sports Agent" in the school's Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management.
Gil has been quoted as an expert in the media on the topics of sports business, having been featured in The New York Times, The Daily News, Newsday, ESPN.com, The Sports Business Daily, The Philadelphia Daily News, Florida Times Union, The Baltimore Sun, Reuters and The Fort Worth Star Telegram amongst others. Gil has also appeared on TV, WBIS TV NY, Court TV, ESPN's "Outside The Lines" and CNN's Wolf Blitzer Reports.
